Overview

Kelly Roberts Bedell is an Associate in Lozano Smith’s San Luis Obispo office. Her legal practice is focused on assisting clients in the facilities and business aspects of public agency law.

Experience

Ms. Bedell assists public agencies on a range of facilities and business matters, including sale or lease of surplus property, school consolidation, workforce housing, developer fees, contracting, and procurement. Additionally, she has experience in school district governance matters, including conflicts of interest, the Brown Act, and board member elections.

Prior to Lozano Smith, Ms. Bedell primarily advised clients on litigation matters, including in the areas of marital dissolution, child custody and visitation, personal injury, general liability, mass and toxic torts, and environmental litigation.

Education

Ms. Bedell earned her Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. During law school, she was involved with the Journal of the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary (NAALJ), the Environmental Law Society as President, and the Advocates for Public Interest Law. Ms. Bedell earned her B.A. (summa cum laude) in Philosophy with a Minor in Business Administration from Biola University.
