School district administrators and teacher are often confronted with students who present differently at school and outside of school. This session will shed light on the difficult question of what is legally required when issues occurring outside of school are educationally related, and what IEP teams need to consider when parents request a residential treatment center placement for behaviors which staff feel are not manifesting or occurring at school. Presenters will also discuss the realities and costs of going to a due process hearing involving residential treatment.This event is reserved for school district or public agency employees only.
