From requests for full inclusion when the school staff members of the IEP team believes a special day class is appropriate, to offering a "split day" with the student spending 49% spent of the day in a resource specialist program and 51% of the time spent in general education with supports, school districts consistently face questions regarding how to meet the least restrictive environment (LRE) requirement. Many districts are moving toward more inclusive settings, including learning centers and co-teaching models, as public education embraces and unifies the concepts of Common Core and least restrictive environment. This unique table talk explores legal principles regarding LRE, examines successful inclusive strategies, and provides attendees with a toolkit for inclusion assessment and strategies.

This event is reserved for school district or public agency employees only. Please contact Client Services for more information.
