Overview

Amanda Eppley is an Associate in Lozano Smith’s Sacramento Office. Ms. Eppley’s practice is primarily focused on student, labor and employment, facilities and business, and litigation matters.

Experience

Ms. Eppley provides counsel and support on many student-related matters, including investigations, responses to Office of Civil Rights (OCR) complaints, gender identity parental notification policies, and campus interactions with law enforcement. Ms. Eppley also prepares legal opinions on a range of issues, such as the timing of school districts’ collection of developer fees, school closures, employee overpayments, and certificated and classified employee dismissals.

Ms. Eppley’s experience extends to supporting litigation matters from inception through discovery, including researching causes of action, drafting complaints, and preparing discovery requests. Ms. Eppley is skilled in drafting contracts, resolutions, agreements, and easements.

With nearly a decade of public school teaching experience and six additional years working closely with school districts across the country, she brings a well-rounded perspective to education law.

Education

Ms. Eppley earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of California Davis. She also earned her M.C.P (City Planning) from the University of California Berkeley, and a B.A. in History & Education from Swarthmore College.
