Kenneth I. Pinette is an Associate in Lozano Smith's Sacramento Office. Experience

Mr. Pinette's career has focused on school finance, having worked for many years as a bond paralegal, project manager, and closing coordinator for Lozano Smith's Public Finance Practice Area for years prior to law school. Mr. Pinette has substantial experience supporting both Bond Counsel and Disclosure Counsel on bond issues and other long-term debt issues. Mr. Pinette has experience drafting initial and continuing disclosure documents and analyzing related disclosure issues in the context of Securities and Exchange Commission rules, preparing authorizing documents, security documents, and closing documents relating to public entity financings, analyzing tax rules related to tax-exempt securities under federal tax law, assisting clients in placing bond measures and special tax measures on their local ballots for voter approval, and preparing documents and advice for clients issuing a variety of long and short-term debt obligations. Outside of public finance, Mr. Pinette has years of experience and knowledge regarding all manners of California education law subject matter areas, especially in facilities and business matters. Mr. Pinette has served school districts and other entities on various litigation matters, public records act requests, Brown Act/open meeting issues, conflict of interest questions, and labor and employment issues.

Education

Mr. Pinette earned his Juris Doctorate from Lincoln Law School of Sacramento. Mr. Pinette's professional experience includes working in real estate market research and analysis.
