Lozano Smith Announces Arrival of Leading Special Education Attorney; Names New Practice Group Co-Chair

San Diego, Calif., (September 29, 2014) - Lozano Smith, LLP, continues to bolster its Special Education Practice Group with the addition of Diane Willis, and the appointment of Summer Dalessandro as the new Co-Chair. The advancement marks a trend for Lozano Smith as it continues to expand throughout Southern California, particularly with accomplished attorneys. Diane and Summer both serve as Senior Counsel in the firm's San Diego office.

Ms. Willis is a highly regarded attorney who joins Lozano Smith with 15 years of experience advising countless educational agencies through the complexities of special education law. Her extensive experience includes representing school districts throughout the state at IEP meetings, mediations, due process hearings, and federal court appeals. Ms. Willis has successfully completed more than 15 due process hearings to decision with prevailing party status.

Ms. Dalessandro joins Northern California based Sarah Garcia as Co-Chair of the firm's Special Education Practice Group. In this position, Summer is responsible for providing strategic direction for the practice group, which includes 20 attorneys across all eight offices. In addition to the leadership role, Summer will continue to counsel clients, where she is noted for representing districts throughout the state in due process hearings, federal court appeals and mediations.
