Lozano Smith Attorneys Recognized with Super Lawyers and Rising Stars Selections

FRESNO, Calif., July 9, 2014 -- Lozano Smith, LLP, a leading California education and public agency law firm, announced today that five attorneys from its statewide offices have been selected by Super Lawyers Magazine as 2014 Northern California Super Lawyers and Rising Stars. Each year, less than five percent of the lawyers in the state receive the Super Lawyers designation, while less than two and a half percent of lawyers receive the Rising Star designation.

Louis T. Lozano and Gregory A. Wedner were both selected as Northern California Super Lawyers. Mr. Lozano, a revered attorney practicing in Monterey known for his labor negotiation skills, has been named by Super Lawyers Magazine as one of the top attorneys in California for the ninth consecutive year. Mr. Wedner, Managing Partner of Lozano Smith, LLP, practices primarily out of the firm's North Bay and Sacramento offices where he regularly serves as the lead litigator on behalf of public agencies, specializing in employment matters and all other areas of education and municipal law.

Ms. Avedisian-Favini is also co-chair of the firm's Local Government Practice Group. Marisa R. Lincoln is Senior Counsel in the Walnut Creek office where she specializes in classified and certificated personnel matters and labor relations. Ms. Lincoln also specializes in charter school law. Ashley N. Emerzian represents the firm's public agency clients, with a focus on general counsel, as well as labor and employment matters on behalf of school districts. Additionally, Ms. Emerzian serves the Central Valley through involvement in various non-profits, including as a member of the Board of Directors for the California Young Lawyers Association.
