Lozano Smith Attorneys Named 2013 Northern California Super Lawyers and Rising Stars

Fresno, Calif., (July 8, 2013) - Lozano Smith, LLP, a leading California education and public agency law firm, announced today that five attorneys from its statewide offices have been selected by Super Lawyers Magazine as 2013 Northern California Super Lawyers and Rising Stars. Each year, less than five percent of the lawyers in the state receive the Super Lawyers designation, while less than two and a half percent of lawyers receive the Rising Star designation.

Louis T. Lozano and Gregory A. Wedner were both selected as Northern California Super Lawyers. Mr. Lozano, a revered attorney practicing in Monterey known for his labor negotiation skills, has been named by California Super Lawyers Magazine as one of the top attorneys in California for the eighth consecutive year. Mr. Wedner, Managing Partner of Lozano Smith, LLP, practices primarily out of the North Bay and Sacramento offices where he regularly serves as the lead litigator on behalf of public agencies, specializing in employment matters and all other areas of education and municipal law.

Laurie A. Avedisian practices out of the Fresno office, and serves as City Attorney and Assistant City Attorney for a number of Central Valley clients. Ms. Avedisian is also co- chair of the firm's Local Government Practice Group and the Board President of the Fresno County Bar Association. Marisa R. Lincoln is Senior Counsel in the Walnut Creek office where she specializes in personnel/labor relations and charter school law. Ms. Lincoln is a specialist in the area of classified and certificated personnel matters. Ashley N. Emerzian represents clients from the Fresno office in both municipal and education law, specializing in local government, litigation and labor and employment issues. Ms. Emerzian will serve on the Board of Directors for the California Young Lawyers Association beginning October 2013.
