Ashley Emerzian Selected as Member of the California Young Lawyers Association Board of Directors

Fresno, CA (June 17, 2013) - Lozano Smith is pleased to announce that effective October, 2013, Fresno attorney Ashley N. Emerzian will serve as the District 5 representative for the California Young Lawyers Association Board of Directors. Ms. Emerzian was appointed to this position by the Board of Trustees for the State Bar of California and will advocate on behalf of young lawyers throughout California to the State Bar during her three year term.

Ms. Emerzian is an Associate in Lozano Smith's Fresno office and works in both municipal and education law with a focus on local government, litigation and labor and employment issues. She earned her J.D. degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law and a B.S. from University of California, Los Angeles (cum laude).

About the California Young Lawyers Association

California Young Lawyers Association (CYLA) is appointed by the Board of Trustees to advise the Board of the interests of California young lawyers, develop strategies for increasing young lawyer involvement and participation in the State Bar, and facilitate the development of programs and services that would assist young lawyers in their professional and leadership advancement and programs that benefit the public. Funded by mandatory State Bar dues, CYLA is composed of 20 young lawyer members appointed by the Board of Trustees. Nine of the appointed seats are designated for representatives of each of the nine State Bar districts, one member per district. The remaining 11 seats are filled by appointments at large. A California young lawyer is defined as a member in good standing of the State Bar of California who is in his or her first five years of practice in California or who is age 36 or under.
