Overview

Damon M. Fournier is an Associate in Lozano Smith's Los Angeles office. Mr. Fournier works closely with school districts and other public agencies to provide legal guidance on employment matters, investigations, and board governance.

Experience

Mr. Fournier advises clients on a wide range of labor and employment matters. His work includes conducting workplace investigations involving certificated and classified employees and advising clients on employee discipline, leave policies, and workplace accommodations. Mr. Fournier is experienced in managing California Department of Education (CDE) and Office of Civil Rights (OCR) complaints.

Mr. Fournier regularly advises governing boards on Brown Act compliance, Public Records Act compliance, and conflicts of interest. He also provides board and leadership trainings, and drafts board policies and administrative regulations.

Education

Mr. Fournier earned his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, California. He also earned a Master of Education from Portland State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of San Francisco.
