Overview

Cyril Yu is Senior Counsel in Lozano Smith’s Los Angeles office. Mr. Yu primarily focuses on civil litigation and public agency law, bringing over two decades of experience handling complex legal matters.

Experience

Mr. Yu has substantial experience in litigating serious and violent felonies, as well as working directly with police departments and prosecuting child abuse cases. He also has significant experience handling high-stakes matters, including in the areas of insurance fraud and financial misconduct. He is skilled in all phases of litigation, including case strategy, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Yu handled a wide range of cases for the Orange County District Attorney’s office. His role involved conducting over sixty-five felony jury trials and handling complex post-conviction matters, providing him with extensive courtroom and appellate experience. Mr. Yu currently serves on the school board for Irvine Unified School District.

Education

Mr. Yu earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California, College of the Law in San Francisco. He earned his Bachelor of Arts and Science in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
