Overview

Lauren J. Collins is Senior Counsel in Lozano Smith's Los Angeles office. She is focused on assisting clients in litigation matters.

Experience

Ms. Collins is skilled in case management, and has experience managing caseloads of more than 70 cases. She frequently collaborates with attorneys on developing legal strategies to maximize settlements and case outcomes for her clients. She also has extensive experience giving legal advice and guidance on labor issues in accordance with case law / Education Codes, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, and the Educational Employment Relations Act (EERA). She has also advised clients on constitutional issues, public record laws, the Brown Act, general employment policies and procedures, grievance handling, arbitration proceedings, and employee discipline.

Education

Ms. Collins received her Juris Doctor from UC College of the Law, San Francisco. During law school she was the Subscription Editor of the Hastings Race and Poverty Law Journal, and the Social Action Chair of the Western Region Black Law Student Association. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from The Ohio State University.
