Angela J. Okamura is an Associate in Lozano Smith's San Diego Office. Ms. Okamura represents education clients in a variety of labor and employment issues.
Ms. Okamura works closely with K-12 and community college districts to assist them in all aspects of labor and employment. Ms. Okamura is well versed in employee discipline, employee grievances, bargaining and negotiations, mediation, investigations, and other matters involving labor and employment. She frequently appears before the California Public Employee Relations Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Department of Fair Employment and Housing on behalf of the firm's clients.
Prior to Lozano Smith, Ms. Okamura assisted clients in all aspects of pre-trial work on complex cases in California state courts. She has represented clients in residential and commercial real estate, including brokerage defense, breach of fiduciary duties, fraud, non-disclosure, statutory and common law buyer and seller obligations, contract disputes and interpretation, common interest developments, real estate broker and agent obligations and regulation, construction and design defect, premises liability, and inverse condemnation.
Ms. Okamura received her Juris Doctor (cum laude
) from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and earned Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with an emphasis in American Politics from the University of California, San Diego. While in law school, Ms. Okamura was a Senior Notes Editor of and published in the Hastings Race & Poverty Law Journal
. She also received Witkin Awards for Academic Excellence in both Asian Pacific Americans and the Law, and Legal Research and Writing.
