Overview
Michele Ellson is an Associate in Lozano Smith's Walnut Creek office. She assists clients through governance, student, and Title IX issues.
Experience
Ms. Ellson is experienced in supporting Title IX and other investigations. She also assists clients in responding to records requests under CPRA, EERA and FERPA. Ms. Ellson addresses Brown Act and other governance issues for board members and helps clients with a host of student issues.
Education
Ms. Ellson earned her B.A. from Buffalo State College in journalism, with a minor in political science. She earned her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and graduated magna cum laude. During law school she received numerous awards and honors, including the Order of the Coif; CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Research and Writing II, Torts, Public Health Law, US Healthcare System & Law, The Government Lawyer, and Race, Racism & American Law; Witkin Award for Public Health Law, and US Healthcare System & Law; Outstanding Achievement in Pro Bono; and Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services. She also externed at the San Francisco City Attorney's office and in the California Legislature.
