Fresno, CA (September 1, 2022) – Lozano Smith, LLP is pleased to announce that two attorneys have been promoted to non-equity Partner, effective September 1, 2022.Lozano Smith's Newest Partners:

Kyle Raney joined our Sacramento office in 2016 and his practice is focused on special education and student issues. He regularly provides counsel and support on all matters related to special education including IEP meetings and due process proceedings. Kyle also advises clients on various issues involving student discipline; student safety; parent custody; Uniform Complaints; CDE/OCR complaints; and Section 504, ADA, and FERPA compliance. Kyle is regularly invited to speak on student and special education topics for statewide organizations, and frequently presents training/workshops for school district and county office of education clients. Kyle is also Lozano Smith’s lead attorney facilitating client involvement in litigation against the vaping and opioid industries.

Laurie Avedisian-Favini originally joined Lozano Smith in our Fresno office in 2010. She is a member of the firm's Municipal, Governance, Labor & Employment, and Facilities & Business Practice Groups. Laurie frequently assists clients with real property acquisitions, bidding and construction, government liability, and Brown Act issues and compliance. She rejoined the Firm in 2021 after serving in the City Attorney's office at the City of Fresno, where she handled complex transactions and development deals, and advised regarding ethical issues. Laurie currently serves as the City Attorney for the city of Reedley, and has previously served in City Attorney or Assistant City Attorney roles for the cities of Lemoore, Coalinga, Firebaugh, and Parlier. She provides a full range of legal advice and services in all aspects of municipal law.
