This session is for all facilities and procurement professionals wanting to understand how to navigate the requirements under California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (“CUPCCAA”) based on the statutes, rules and guidance provided from the Commission. First, the session will start with an overview of relevant laws pertinent to CUPCCAA, and of the accounting review process. Accounting reviews are essentially challenges, often by third parties, to an LEA’s use of CUPCCAA. Then, through an interactive “case study” model, the session will discuss some of the common pitfalls of defining a project, bid splitting and utilizing the appropriate bid thresholds. Each case study will be based on the Commission’s real accounting reviews leaving attendees with “lessons learned” so they are better equipped to Keep Up with CUPCCAA.This event is reserved for school district or public agency employees only.
