Details

Due to the impact of COVID-19 on education, parent requests for independent educational evaluations (IEEs) at public expense have become a part of everyday life for school districts. Join us for an interactive discussion regarding the ins and outs of responding to these requests, and how they can be a valuable tool for parents and school staff when determining a child's educational needs. On the flipside, learn how you, as a school psychologist or Licensed Educational Psychologist, are uniquely qualified to perform IEEs. Together we will navigate the legal and practical considerations when determining whether to fund an IEE, how to use IEEs to the IEP team's benefit, and no longer view these reports with suspicion or hostility. Additionally, we will review the components, goals, and role of the IEE to help you feel comfortable and confident when you are the evaluator called up on to conduct them and review your findings in IEP meetings. From timelines through substantive analysis, the session will prepare you to handle and conduct independent assessments confidently and effectively.

This event is reserved for school district or public agency employees only. Please contact Client Services for more information.
