Lou Lozano Named 2008 Northern California Super Lawyer

Monterey, Calif., (July 31, 2008) - Louis T. Lozano, founding shareholder of California's premier public agency law firm, Lozano Smith, has been named a 2008 Northern California Super Lawyer. He had been named in 2005 and 2007 as well. Only the top 5% of attorneys in Northern California are designated Super Lawyers after a rigorous four-step process that includes peer evaluations. Mr. Lozano is one of just two education attorneys who made the list this year.

For more than 30 years Mr. Lozano has been at the forefront of important issues in education law including school funding, land use, and developer fees. He is best known for his labor negotiation skills; and has resolved many serious labor disputes, avoiding strikes.

"Of course, it is always an honor to be recognized by one's peers for my work, but for me the true reward is the affirmation that my work continues to help add value in the education arena. That has been a motivating force for me all along," says Mr. Lozano regarding his Super Lawyers designation.

Mr. Lozano received his Juris Doctor in 1975 from U. C. Berkeley, School of Law, after teaching high school in the Oakland Unified School District and receiving his undergraduate degree in 1970 from the University of California at Berkeley.
