Whether you are making the request, responding to the request, or affected by someone else's request, leaves of absence are fact of life for school district employees. This presentation explores the most common types of paid and unpaid leaves of absence, both those bargained for and those provided by federal and state law. Participants analyze hypothetical situations to understand the basics of leave coordination, and discuss recent changes in the law (e.g., parental leave).
