OVERVIEW
The all-important topic of sexual harassment has taken center stage on a national level, and school districts are faced with exceedingly high obligations for addressing claims of sexual misconduct, including harassment and sexual violence under Title IX. To help districts navigate Title IX compliance, Lozano Smith has developed a comprehensive workshop centered on proactive and preventative measures.

WHAT TO EXPECT
This workshop is designed to provide school personnel with an overview of Title IX, with an emphasis on sexual misconduct in student-to-student and adult-to-student situations. It will also cover school employees' obligations to identify and report Title IX issues that have been brought to their attention. Attendees will learn best practices for addressing sexual misconduct when it occurs, including how to investigate complaints and discipline.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Attendees will walk away with a clear understanding of:
• How to identify conduct that may rise to the level of sexual misconduct, including sexual harassment and sexual violence;
• The role of the Title IX Coordinator and Responsible Employees;
• The importance of implementing appropriate interim measures;
• How to handle difficult situations, including a student's request for confidentiality;
• Important timelines and investigation procedures;
• Corrective measures that may be used to redress the harm sustained by victims of sexual misconduct; and
• Preventative measures school may take to protect themselves from liability and students from harm.

TEAM-CENTERED APPROACH
Addressing Title IX issues on campus requires collaboration from staff across multiple departments. To help address real-world scenarios, this workshop includes interactive, group-based activities where participants will collaborate on responding to various Title IX issues.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
• School district administrators, Title IX coordinators, principals, assistant principals, and anyone tasked with investigating Title IX or sex-based discrimination complaints.

COST:
• $145 per person
• $95 per person for groups of 5 or more
