School Bond Workshop Series

The Blueprint: Maximizing Your District's Finance and Facilities Programs
Event Single

Details

The world of school bonds and related public finance issues can be confusing and complex. It can also be intimidating to administrators. You are expected, more than ever, to holistically serve as experts in the bond process from A to Z. To prepare you for the upcoming election year, Lozano Smith's Public Finance team is rolling out the School Bonds and State Facilities Aid Workshop Series.

This overarching workshop walks attendees through three critical stages: (1) Pre-Election/Preparing your Measure, (2) Issuance and (3) Post-Issuance. Together, your facilities and finance teams will ensure legal requirements are met from funding to completed construction and beyond.

Key Topic Areas

  • Elections: Timelines and requirements
  • Assembling your Bond Team: Who are these people and what they do
  • Disclosure and Record-keeping: Regulations and legal considerations
  • State sources: SFP a companion to local bonds: Funding availability, and new changes in the application and funding process
This workshop will shed light on applicable regulations and legal requirements, designed to provide attendees with a greater understanding into the bond process and how to go about implementing public financing options. Attendees will walk through the critical stages and strategies for successful campaigns and compliance. Attendees will also learn about new developments governing SFP availability, procedure, and requirements.
