This workshop will give newly appointed school managers/administrators with an overview of the laws and legal issues they need to know to "hit the ground running." Current and veteran school managers/administrators will receive a refresher course of updated and new laws to keep abreast in an ever-changing legal environment. You will leave this workshop with a solid understanding of your district's legal requirements and actual examples of how to deal with challenging employees, employee issues, and employee unions. This will include: legal requirements for hiring, managing, and releasing school employees, and proper prevention and responses to ADA, FEHA, discrimination and sexual harassment claims.This event is reserved for school district or public agency employees only.
