This workshop will give newly appointed school managers/administrators with an overview of the laws and legal issues they need to know to "hit the ground running." Current and veteran school managers/administrators will receive a refresher course of updated and new laws to keep abreast in an ever-changing legal environment. You will leave this workshop with a solid understanding of your district's legal requirements and actual examples of how to deal with challenging employees, employee issues, and employee unions. This will include: legal requirements for hiring, managing, and releasing school employees, and proper prevention and responses to ADA, FEHA, discrimination and sexual harassment claims.
