Regulating Employee Speech: Political Speech, Academic Freedom and Religious Expression
Event Single

Details

Now more than ever, school districts are faced with controversial speech. When can teachers criticize the administration or speak out about Black Lives Matter or A Day Without Immigrants? This presentation will discuss the district's need to balance a respect for employee religious and political viewpoints while ensuring that employee speech does not disrupt the work place or violate the rights of others. This workshop will also focus on how to find "common ground" to turn controversy into teachable moments.

This event is reserved for school district or public agency employees only. Please contact Client Services for more information.
