Research shows that children with disabilities are more likely to be bullied by their peers, but are also statistically more likely to be bullies themselves. So how do we intervene to change these statistics? How should school district staff respond to, investigate and educate regarding bullying? And what should you do when tragedy strikes? Our presentation will provide you with a legal update on student bullying, as well as practical and legal tips for prevention, identification, investigation and management of bullying. We will also provide you with information regarding implementation of successful training programs for staff and students, safety plans, and when, if ever, the victim or perpetrator may be transferred to another school site. This event is reserved for school district or public agency employees only.
