School districts enter into contracts almost daily in a variety of areas including employment, construction, professional services and a host of other products and services. It is critical that staff involved in the contracting process understand what a contract is and what it is not. It is also important to understand the laws that apply to different types of contracts, as well as best practices in contract negotiations.
