Jessica E. Ozalp is an associate in Lozano Smith's Walnut Creek Office. She assists education clients through legal representation in student, governance and charter school matters.
A former ESL teacher, Ms. Ozalp most recently worked for the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and the Wisconsin Legislative Council. In these roles she focused on legal issues related to public education and is experienced in legal research, legal opinions, interpreting and drafting regulations, and ensuring legal compliance. Ms. Ozalp also has significant experience defending public agencies in administrative hearings and litigation matters.
Ms. Ozalp received her Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she was the Managing Editor and Diversity Committee Chair of the Wisconsin Law Review
. She earned an M.A. in Applied English Linguistics and a B.A. (cum laude
) in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
